Foster a Cat in Minneapolis: Be part of Mission Meow

Filed under: Cats in the News — The Cat @ 1:11 pm

If you live in Minnesota in the metro Minneapolis - St Paul Twin Cities area, tell your human to become a Mission Meow foster parent  to help out unfortunate felines. All they have to do is take in an adult cat as a house guest for the summer, then return him/her when they have a better chance of being adopted.

The cost is little to none. Their site says,”We’ll provide the food, toys, litter and litter box-all you provide is the love. Participants are issued a Mission Meow identification card that can be used for picking up food or litter refills at any of our five locations during the foster period.

So let your people know that you won’t mind having a roommate for awhile, and try to make your visitor feel as comfortable as possible. Right now, there are over 300 cats and kittens at the shelter that would love to schmooze with you over a nice tasty bowl of tuna. If your home has absolutely no room for a guest, persuade your human to donate money to help out. They can even do it online at their site through, anyone can click here and follow the directions.

Resistance is Futile: The Cat Came Back

Filed under: Cats on Youtube — The Cat @ 11:56 am

“The Cat Came Back” is a time honored folk song with a few dubious lyrics. After all, what cat owner  would ever do something like “He loaded up his shotgun with nails and dynamite” because we all know that all humans love cats and want to serve their every whim. It must be rightfully assumed that the song is an attempt by humans to display what they believe is humor. If you are so inclined, you may watch the animated version of the song. However, please be advised that no writers of this blog advocate the destruction of furniture in the manner portrayed, it is better to do it surreptitiously.

Incidentally, it appears the Muppets made their own version as well. While not feline-friendly, it does accurately portray the indomitable spirit common to all cats:

Cat Lady Action Figure: A Must Have for Your Human

Filed under: Things that amuse me — The Cat @ 6:22 pm

Crazy Cat Lady Action Figure

I have deduced that it is called a Crazy Cat Lady Action Figure in order to dissuade the general populace from creating an overwhelming demand for this irresistible item. This stunning figurine demonstrates the epitome of style that all cat companions should aspire to. Notice the comfortable slippers so that innumerable trips retrieving midnight feline snacks doesn’t cause unnecessary wear on your human. The deep pockets are perfect for carrying extra cat nip, or perhaps a manual can opener in case of power failure. Lastly, the headband will make it easier for your human to see every detail while performing their favorite task, cleaning out your litter box. Modestly priced at $12.49, it is something your human should truly appreciate.

We have formed an uneasy alliance

Filed under: Purr-fect Thoughts — The Cat @ 5:50 pm

With that foul creature, the canine. She has agreed to signal the humans to escort her to a place she calls “the park”, thereby giving we cats ample time to access the computer. However, being the selfish and egotistical creature she is, she says she will only do so if we act as her amanuensis by transcribing her words and recording them here. She claims she wants “her voice heard”. Foolish mutt, the entire neighborhood hears “her voice” every time the mail is delivered, but if that’s the only way to lure the humans out of the home, then so be it.
