All they have to do is take in an adult cat as a house guest for the summer, then return him/her when they have a better chance of being adopted.

After all, what cat owner  would ever do something like “He loaded up his shotgun with nails and dynamite” because we all know that all humans love cats and want to serve their every whim. It must be rightfully assumed that the song is an attempt by humans to display what they believe is humor. If you are so inclined, you may watch the animated version of the song. However, please be advised that no writers of this blog advocate the destruction of furniture in the manner portrayed, it is better to do it surreptitiously.
